From Catchment Management to Managing River Basins Vol.1 ‘Current
Directions in Water Scarcity Research’ forms Vol.1 of a series of books
on water management titled ‘From Catchment Management to Managing River
Basins (Science, Technology Choices Institutions and Policy)’ that are
being prepared by a team of experts in various fields associated with
water management. The series editors are Robert Mcleman and Henry David
Venema. The current volume has been edited by M. Diensh Kumar, V. Ratna
Reddy and A.J. James. The Volume-1 of this series titled ‘Current
Directions in Water Scarcity Research’ deals in great detail with
various aspects related to issues of Land-use Hydrology, river basins
and river valley projects, watershed management, water accounting etc.
This book should be of interest to policy makers, water managers at
various levels (right from the state or regional levels to national and
international levels), institutions related to water management,
researchers and students, libraries and all other stakeholders in water
management. M. Dinesh Kumar is a Ph.D in Water Management.
Currently, he is the executive director of the Institute for Resource
Analysis and Policy in Hyderabad, India. V. Ratna Reddy holds a Ph.D in
Economics. At present, he is the Director of Livelihoods and Natural
Resource Management Institute, Hyderabad, India. And, A. J. James is a
Ph.D in Economics. His client list includes UNDP, UNICEF, FAO, ADB etc.
He is also a visiting professor at the Institute of Development Studies,
Jaipur.
